The 2010 Greater Portland, Maine Multiple Sclerosis Walk is April 24th

Scarborough High School is the location this year for the Greater Portland, Maine Multiple Sclerosis Walk. The date is Saturday April 24, 2010.

Participation means you will be helping to support programs, services, and research sponsored by the Maine Chapter, National Multiple Sclerosis Society, and that makes a huge difference to the people who live with MS.The Maine Chapter, National Multiple Sclerosis Society is dedicated to mobilizing people and resources to drive research for a cure and to address the challenges of everyone affected by Multiple Sclerosis.

A Fund Raiser for Second Chance Boxer Rescue and Australian Shepherd Rescue

On Friday, March 26th there will de a fundraiser for Second Chance Boxer Rescue and Australian Shepherd Rescue at The Gold Room located at 512 Warren Avenue in Portland. It's a comedy show!

March 9, 2010, O’Naturals in Falmouth, Maine will donate 10% of their total sales from 4:00 - 8:00pm to  Maine Friends of Animals!

Puggy and Sissy Meet Fellow Pearl Lover Barbara Bush

Yesterday we had a customer in our Showroom with a really great story. 

About five years ago our customer got her first dog ever.  She told me she had been seeing "these funny looking dogs" and they interested her...she didn't even know what kind of dogs they were.  Well, they were Pugs and she ended up getting one called Puggy and then a few months later got another they named Sissy.

Puggy and Sissy are now therapy dogs at Maine Medical Center here in Portland.  They are famous for many things, one of which is that they often wear big pearls just like Barbara Bush, who established The Babara Bush Children's Center at Maine Medical Center where they work.

In the past few months we have been hearing more and more from customers that Agatha & Louise is their "dog store". One of the first times we heard this was last year from a customer in Alabama. She was placing an order over the phone for a Decoupage Wastepaper Basket and she told me, "whenever I need a dog gift, I call Agatha & Louise. You're my dog store". That meant a lot to me because we are in Maine and she's many miles away in Alabama..her kind words made me feel good about what we’re doing...

This past Friday afternoon I answered a call from a customer in Geneva, Switzerland.  She ordered four Dog Collars from us and she told me that she loves shopping with us and that when she needs something for her dog or a gift for her friend’s dog she comes to us because “Agatha & Louise is my dog store”. The only thing  I could think to say was “Thank You”.  I was almost speechless hearing that Agatha & Louise in Portland, Maine had become the dog store for someone in Europe.

Thank you. Really. Thank you for making Agatha & Louise your dog store.

Eloise visits Agatha & Louise after Getting her Lobster Collar

A Havanese named Eloise who splits her time between New York City and Florida came by Agatha & Louise to see for herself where her new Pink Lobster Dog Collar came from. Her mom ordered her a new Lobster Collar on agathaandlouise.com last week. Eloise is in Maine with her family for a vacation. Of course she needed a new lobster collar for her time in Maine!

While at our showroom she picked up a new Puppia Soft Harness too. Thanks for coming by Eloise. It was great to meet you (you have a nice family). When we are back in New York City we'll come by to see you...why do we think you'll be in the park?

Tri for a Cure to Benefit the Maine Cancer Foundation was a Great Success

A big thank you to all of our customers and friends who helped us raise $200.00 for Karen Cloutier in the Tri for a Cure (which was held August 9th) to benefit the Maine Cancer Foundation. Overall Karen was able to raise $5,100 and was the second top fundraiser! A total of $400,000 was raised for the Maine Cancer Foundation!!

Our Fetch for a Cure campaign benefits the Maine Cancer Foundation.
