Portland, Maine is a great place to live...especially if you are a dog owner!
Yesterday Posie and I went with some friends to The Fore River Sanctuary. We spent a lot of time in Portland's only natural waterfall Jewell Falls. What a gorgeous place!!
The Fore River Sanctuary is maintained by Portland Trails. Portland Trails, which formed in 1990, is an organization working to create and maintain a 50-mile network of trails in Greater Portland.
In addition to offering people beautiful places to run, bike, ski and skate, dogs are welcome on most trails as well.
At Jewell Falls we met Duncan, a Labradoodle who was very excited to jump into the falls after a long hike on the trail. This was one happy dog!
Here we are enjoying a snack with our friend's dog Ginger listening to the melodic sound of the rushing waterfall...what a fabulous day!
