Yesterday we had a customer in our Showroom with a really great story.
About five years ago our customer got her first dog ever. She told me she had been seeing "these funny looking dogs" and they interested her...she didn't even know what kind of dogs they were. Well, they were Pugs and she ended up getting one called Puggy and then a few months later got another they named Sissy.
Puggy and Sissy are now therapy dogs at Maine Medical Center here in Portland. They are famous for many things, one of which is that they often wear big pearls just like Barbara Bush, who established The Babara Bush Children's Center at Maine Medical Center where they work.
Well, Mrs. Bush on one of her frequent visits to the hospital decided that she had to meet these Pearl Wearing Therapy Pugs! So a date was set and Puggy and Sissy met with Mrs. Bush. All three of them had on their pearls of course!
I love this story for several reasons. First of all I love that a woman who had never had a dog has fallen so in love with dogs. They have become a huge part of her life (thus her visit to Agatha & Louise for more Pug stuff!)
The second reason I love this story is because of the great work these two dogs perform. She shared some of the experiences she has had at the hospital with the pugs. I was in tears hearing about the love these dogs have shown. It is truly amazing how much animals can contribute to our lives!
The third reason is the picture of those pugs in their pearls...I mean have you ever seen anything as adorable as that!!! As many of you know our Louise (the Pug in our Agatha & Louise Logo) always wears pearls! She is named after my Grandmother Louise who left me a fabulous string of pearls and I always feel better when I'm wearing them...
I'm so glad to have learned about Puggy and Sissy and the good work they are doing!
